Where's my basquiat
NOTARY- This is the first movement of my suite 'Where's My Basquiat?' called, "Notary." It is a musical expression of Jean-Michel Basquiat's painting also called 'Notary'. The Music captures the personality and emotion of the painting through the brash harmonies and swirling horn melodies that play off of the different brush strokes and shapes enclosed in the different elements throughout the painting. Elements of Hip-Hop, JAZZ, an R&B are the main DNA of the first song.
IN GOD WE TRUST- This movement is about the concept of God and how that concept has had an impact on people shaping an informing the lens we see the world around us through. It's called "In God We Trust" because everything that exists is an acknowledgment of God in some capacity whether it's conscious or not. This is my musical acknowledgment of God, inspired by what Basquiats' painting invoked in me.

The second movement is about how empowering it is to embrace the struggle and chaos and make sense out of the madness. There is beauty in everything if you choose to see it and work toward it.
ETERNAL YOU- This piece is about the light that is in every person and how we must always strive to find it within ourselves and bring it out through our words, deeds, and actions.
